Calvary Baptist Christian School Athletics

Our Athletics Program

The overall purpose of the athletic program at CBCS is to bring honor and glory to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Coaches are encouraged to teach skills of the sport and disciple athletes as they learn to do their best in all areas.

Soccer

Soccer is offered to boys in grades 5th-8th. The boys will have the opportunity to learn how to play traditional 11-man soccer against LACC and local teams. A typical season will have 10-12 games and will start at the beginning of the school year and end mid-October. Student athletes will be taught the basic skills of soccer, focusing on development and team formation. CBCS will have soccer tryouts depending on the number of students who would like to play.

Volleyball

Volleyball is offered to girls in grades 5-8. The season will last from the beginning of the school year until the end of October.

5th/6th Grade Team:

Basic skills are taught for the 5th/6th team. Girls are taught proper hand position for passing and setting and the fundamentals are emphasized. Since the goal is to help all of the girls improve, all players will have a substantial amount of game time experience.

Team concepts are developed for the 7th/8th team. Fundamental skills are emphasized while being encouraged to increase their play in areas of serving and hitting. The 7th/8th girls will be able to participate in 2 tournaments near the end of the season: WACS tournament and LACC conference tournament.
